Whether you’re hosting a Canada Day party, attending a BBQ or celebrating at home with your family I’ve got the treat for you! I’ve made it easy for you so all you’ll have to worry about is having fun and celebrating our great Country.
Here are some fun twists on some traditional Canadian sweets!
I’d never turn down a good spritzer and this one looks so fresh and summery!
I know that Macarons are nothing new but have you tried a Nanaimo Bar one???
Butter Tarts are my Kryptonite and this sundae just takes the ooey gooey goodness to the next level.
Peanut Butter cups make everything better.
For the more modern folk, these are a bit more subtle. I’ve always wanted to try cookie stamps and I love the geometric patterns!
They are technically groundhogs but I don’t think anyone would notice.
These moose cookies are adorable , can you guess what shape cookie cutter she used?
Nothing says Canada more than a red and white toque with a pom pom! Being edible is just the icing on the cake! 😉
And last but not least. If your not that handy in the kitchen or are heading out last minute Timbits are always a hit. Bet ya can’t eat just one!
If you enjoyed these Canadian inspired treats, don’t forget to pin them for later!

I am proud to be a born and raised Canadian. My husband and I LOVE to travel but there’s something here that always calls me back. I know I often take all we have for granted, as do many of us, but Canada Day is the perfect time to be thankful. Continue reading
We are a family of bookworms. My husband, myself and now Link all love reading. We often visit used bookstores, libraries, and make family trips to Indigo on the weekends. If we aren’t reading you can probably find us at the zoo so I thought I’d combine the two and create a list of the best animal books for kids. Continue reading
I’ve been on the search for the perfect face cleanser but I couldn’t find something that I loved or that wasn’t too expensive. I have oily skin that’s prone to breakouts and have been a long time user of Oxy pads. I know that they are quite harsh and full of chemicals but they worked the best for me. I am very sensitive to perfumy scents and the ease of the pad meant I consistently used them. I’ve tried many different brands of wipes and pads but they either irritated my skin or were quite pricy and they all seem so wasteful when you use them twice a day.
This macaroni & cheese is the perfect comfort food with a healthy kick!
It’s not easy to feed your family a healthy home cooked meal that is quick and easy and they will actually enjoy. I know that kids need to learn to eat vegetables in their natural form and hopefully learn to like them. (Though I am still waiting on that for myself.) But sometimes it’s nice to sit down to a meal together with no bartering or whining. One that doesn’t involve fast food.
This macaroni & cheese will have them gobbling up their vegetables without even knowing it. Even begging for seconds!
I love hearing little tidbits about people, especially if they aren’t very well known! I don’t write a lot about me personally so I thought it might be interesting to share some fun facts today. So here we go, in no particular order. Continue reading
I read every night before going to sleep. It helps me unwind and forget all the thoughts running wild in my head. I like all sorts of books but I love creepy mysteries and girly romance books the best. I’ve put together the top 16 books that I’ve enjoyed lately. Take a look, I’m sure you’ll find something that you won’t want to put down! Continue reading
Dress up your front step with this easy Halloween Doormat.
I’m a sucker for holiday decor but I generally don’t do a lot for Halloween as it seems so close to Christmas. This year Link and I did some Halloween crafts and decorations for the mantle and he was so excited that I thought we should continue the fun onto the front step!
I bought Link a Halloween costume this week but the maker in me is not entirely convinced. I thought I would use my time for other things like decorations and baking but I keep finding myself back on Pinterest scoping out different DIY costumes. I’ve put together a list of my favourites, hopefully it’ll save you some time! Continue reading
