We are a family of bookworms. My husband, myself and now Link all love reading. We often visit used bookstores, libraries, and make family trips to Indigo on the weekends. If we aren’t reading you can probably find us at the zoo so I thought I’d combine the two and create a list of the best animal books for kids. Continue reading
I’ve been on the search for the perfect face cleanser but I couldn’t find something that I loved or that wasn’t too expensive. I have oily skin that’s prone to breakouts and have been a long time user of Oxy pads. I know that they are quite harsh and full of chemicals but they worked the best for me. I am very sensitive to perfumy scents and the ease of the pad meant I consistently used them. I’ve tried many different brands of wipes and pads but they either irritated my skin or were quite pricy and they all seem so wasteful when you use them twice a day.
This macaroni & cheese is the perfect comfort food with a healthy kick!
It’s not easy to feed your family a healthy home cooked meal that is quick and easy and they will actually enjoy. I know that kids need to learn to eat vegetables in their natural form and hopefully learn to like them. (Though I am still waiting on that for myself.) But sometimes it’s nice to sit down to a meal together with no bartering or whining. One that doesn’t involve fast food.
This macaroni & cheese will have them gobbling up their vegetables without even knowing it. Even begging for seconds!
I love hearing little tidbits about people, especially if they aren’t very well known! I don’t write a lot about me personally so I thought it might be interesting to share some fun facts today. So here we go, in no particular order. Continue reading
I read every night before going to sleep. It helps me unwind and forget all the thoughts running wild in my head. I like all sorts of books but I love creepy mysteries and girly romance books the best. I’ve put together the top 16 books that I’ve enjoyed lately. Take a look, I’m sure you’ll find something that you won’t want to put down! Continue reading
I can’t believe that tomorrow we start our advent calendar, what happened to November?!? After Halloween it seemed like Christmas was so far away and then “bam” it’s December! Continue reading
Last year I filled Link’s advent calendar with little toys and books and it was great but this year I wanted it to be more interactive. Since we love doing little projects and we don’t need anymore little toys rolling around the living room I decided to go with an activity/craft theme. I gathered some pre-made kits from Michaels and Dollarama and then put together some of my own activities based on things I found on Pinterest. Continue reading
Dress up your front step with this easy Halloween Doormat.
I’m a sucker for holiday decor but I generally don’t do a lot for Halloween as it seems so close to Christmas. This year Link and I did some Halloween crafts and decorations for the mantle and he was so excited that I thought we should continue the fun onto the front step!
I bought Link a Halloween costume this week but the maker in me is not entirely convinced. I thought I would use my time for other things like decorations and baking but I keep finding myself back on Pinterest scoping out different DIY costumes. I’ve put together a list of my favourites, hopefully it’ll save you some time! Continue reading
